International studies  

Our Institute offers several programmes in computer science from undergraduate to PhD studies.

Bachelor's and Master's Degree Studies

We would like to inform all potential candidates that admissions for the Computer Science programmes taught in English at the University of Wrocław are suspended starting from the academic year 2012 (for either the Bachelor programme or the Master programme). Despite this, we still offer courses tauhgt in English, generally at graduate level. The list of courses offered is available on the Masters programme site.

We offer Bachelor's and Master's degree studies for foreign students, where the working language is English:

Exchange studies

We are a member of the Socrates-Erasmus Programme and welcome students from Europe and all over the world to take lectures in English at our Institute.

PhD Studies

We offer a PhD programme in Computer Science to foreign students.

We are looking for candidates for PhD positions offered within “The International PhD Program in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics” organized by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Wroclaw. Partners in the programme are MaxPlanckInstitute and Universitat des Saarlandes in Saarbrücken.

Supported research topics include, but are not limited to:
Combinatorial Optimization, Computational Biology, Distributed Computing, Semantics and Verification, Database Theory, Automated Theorem Proving, Partial Differential Equations and Stochastic Methods in Engineering and Applied Sciences, Applied Probability, Risk Theory, Queueing Theory, Mathematical Finance.

Successful candidates, for the initial period until June 2015, will be offered:
● a competitive, taxfree
scholarship of 5000 PLN (approximately 1200 EUR);
● financing of a one month international research visit in an institution accepted by the
director of the PhD program;
● a series of lectures in English.

Then, after evaluation, the participants will be further financed by research grants and/or department scholarships.

The qualification process will take place in January 2014, and the successful candidates are expected to start their PhD programme in Spring 2014. Candidates who are about to finish their Master programme in Spring 2014 are also encouraged to apply.

An application should include:
1. curriculum vitae,
2. cover letter (including a short description of a research plan),
3. list of attended courses with grades,
4. optionally: a sample of a (co)
authored document (e.g., research paper or thesis),
5. one recommendation letter.
